The Nepean League started it’s Netball competition in 2009, and what a success this new venture has been  for the  the Rye Football and Netball Club. Since its inception, the A Grade team has played in 6 grand finals, winning 3, runners up in 3 and finishing 3rd on one occasion. The club now has 5 teams, U/17’s, D Grade, C Grade, B and A Grade.

In 2015, Lucy Millar was also the first netballer to play 100 club games, Lucy is now on 129. Olivia Stephens now holds the record with 159 games at the end of the 2021 season, an outstanding achievement. Others in the 100 game club are Sienna Wills 120, Jodie Nash 114, Rachel Jankovic 106, and Kristen Jarrard 100

The A Grade Best & Fairest Award, is named the “Millar Medal”. 

Named in honor of the Millar Family, who were instrumental in getting the Rye Football and Netball Club’s Netball team up and running in 2009. In appreciation to Bruce, Sue and their 3 daughters Amy, Elle and Lucy. The 3 girls all playing in the inaugural 2010 premiership team. Amy Jobling (nee Millar) was also the playing coach.

Bruce Millar our Football Head Trainer for over 13 years and Life Member, passed away in November 2013 to Motor Neuron Disease. An inspirational day in September that year, when Bruce was able to witness the girls winning the 2013 A Grade Premiership, an emotional win, dedicated to Bruce and the Millar family
