Netball
The Rye Demons Netball Club is a proud and passionate part of the Rye Football Netball Club family. Since joining the club in 2009, our netball program has gone from strength to strength — competing in six A Grade grand finals and taking home three premierships along the way.
In 2026, the Demons field six sides in the Mornington Peninsula Football Netball League, from our Under 17s all the way through to A Grade. We also have two reserve teams, Seniors and 17s, play in the Nepean Netball Association. Led by Netball Manager Gen Blaze and a dedicated group of coaches, our program is committed to developing players of all ages and abilities in a welcoming, competitive environment.
The MPNFL games are played on Saturdays at RJ Rowley Reserve and the Nepean games are played on Tuesday nights at Hillview Stadium. Come along, bring the family, and cheer on the Demons!
The Millar Family
The A Grade Best & Fairest Award is named the “Millar Medal” in honour of the Millar Family who were instrumental in getting the Rye Football and Netball Club’s netball team up and running in 2009. It demonstrates our appreciation to Bruce, Sue and their three daughters Amy, Elle and Lucy. The three girls all played in the inaugural 2010 premiership team. Amy Jobling (nee Millar) was also the playing coach.
Bruce Millar, our Football Head Trainer for over 13 years and Life Member, passed away in November 2013 to Motor Neuron Disease. It was an inspirational day in September that year, when Bruce was able to witness the girls winning the 2013 A Grade Premiership, an emotional win, dedicated to Bruce and the Millar family

Netball Teams
The A Grade side is the flagship of the Rye Demons Netball program. Coached by Gen Blaze with assistant Issy Rebecca, the A Graders lead by example both on and off the court. Fresh off a taste of finals netball in 2025, this group is hungry to go one better in 2026. Skilful, determined and deeply competitive — these are the Demons at their best.
The B Grade side brings plenty of energy and talent to the court each week. With Issy Rebecca taking the reins as head coach and Gen Blaze providing support as assistant, the B Grade team is a tightly knit group that plays hard, develops quickly and backs each other every step of the way.
C Grade is competitive, spirited netball with a fantastic team culture. Coached by Andrea with Gen Blaze as assistant, this side is a great blend of developing players and experienced club members. There's no shortage of effort or enthusiasm — and that makes for some cracking Saturday afternoon netball.
The D Grade side is all about growth, connection and a genuine love of the game. Coached by Tessa Bourke-Finn with Liv Barrett as assistant, this group brings a positive, team-first attitude to every training and match day. With a mix of developing players and committed contributors, D Grade focuses on building confidence, sharpening skills and enjoying the contest. Supportive, spirited and always up for the challenge — this is where strong foundations are built.
The 17s side is an exciting group of emerging talent within the Rye Demons Netball program. Coached by Heidi Hutchinson with Tessa Bourke-Finn as assistant, this team is focused on development, confidence and building strong connections on court. With a great mix of skill and determination, the 17s play with energy, support one another and continue to grow each week.
The Senior Reserves side provides a strong pathway into senior netball, with a focus on consistency, teamwork and development. Coached by Alannah Marsh, this group brings commitment and a competitive edge to their Tuesday night matches, supporting each other while continuing to build their game.
The 17s Reserves team is all about learning, enjoyment and building confidence in a supportive environment. Coached by Liv Barrett, this side plays with enthusiasm and a willingness to improve, making the most of every opportunity on their Tuesday night fixtures while developing both skills and team connection.
